2011 Call For Proposals Online Form

The North Carolina Association for the Gifted and Talented
37th Annual NCAGT/PAGE Conference

"Voyage to a New Horizon"

March 17 – 18, 2011 (Thursday and Friday)
Marriott and Embassy Suites Hotels, Winston-Salem, NC

“I can't change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination.”

This quotation by Jimmy Dean, entertainer and entrepreneur, captures the essence of Voyage to a New Horizon, the theme for the NCAGT 2011 Annual Conference. There are “winds” that have buffeted our schools, our programs, our teachers, our students -- political, social, economic winds – and the 2010 conference reflected concerns about these in last year’s “S.O.S.” theme. Now, the newly revised Plans for Services for Academically and Intellectually Gifted Children and Youth have been submitted in fulfillment of the requirements of Article 9B, raising the question of how to achieve those lofty goals, how to reach the destination that we can see in the distance but have not yet reached, how to undertake a voyage that has the potential to take us far beyond where we now are. Share your knowledge and skill with educators who are “on board” and ready to learn about the many possible ways that gifted students can have their educational, social, and emotional needs addressed through appropriate strategies for differentiated educational experiences. Join us March 17-18, 2011 to begin a “Voyage to a New Horizon.”
